Sweet little lies
This was a song probably I heard in the 70s. “ Tell me lies tell me lies..tell me lies tell me sweet little lies”
At that time, I could not even begin to comprehend what it actually meant.. Now I know..better.
So they say the truth shall set you free.does it? It does not free you, I beg to differ.
.It just makes it all the more difficult to live with. Because if we tell the truth, we feel naked and vulnerable, fearful of the consequences.
So should you tell lies..? Don’t we everyday? Every chance we get? “ oh you look so nice” when the person could have just stepped out of a disaster. “ No, You don’t look tired”and the person looks like hell. “ No I love you” when you actually want to say..”what? do I have to say it again”???? etc, etc, etc
We don’t want to hurt anyone and end up hurting someone eventually because we don’t have the courage to
confront ourselves, what we want out of our lives.
Most of us are living a lie .we lie to ourselves, spouses, our children, to family, friends( maybe there, we may be a little truthful) , because if we told the truth, it would devastate the people around us..it would expose us, our pain, our selfishness, our desires. We compromise so therefore we lie..our conscience dies somewhere along the way..or do we just smother it?
So then who do we tell the truth to? Strangers!!!So we blog..we write diaries..we aspire to tell the truth..out there..in the Blogosphere..Maybe there is hope for us..maybe there is someone out there..who will actually care to tell the truth.without fear..of being rejected, judged, ridiculed.
I may be wrong..but I know a lot of bloggers will agree with me. Only those who pretend to be truth personified will protest.
