A nobel Laureate, a person supposed to be sensitive and artistic, compassionate? 
No.
More often than not, artists are narcissistic, self absorbed, weak and fickle.
Their art, their talent because of some quirk of fate is the only redeeming quality they possess.
Yes Artists, writers have licence to be promiscuous, for so called "I need a muse" reasons..
But to admit in a biography that he tormented  his wife with his blatant whoring and a long extra marital affair, boasted about it in magazines while his wife was in remission because of a mastectomy... is a disgusting, repulsive and inhuman reflection of this pathetic human being.
And oh he ended his almost 24 (plus or less?)yr old affair on the deathbed of his wife.
Then what did he do?
After the funeral he immediately got another of his paramours into the house and married her!
What kind of women are these who succumb to such awful men?
His wife, does anyone know why she stayed with him? Because she loved him, and waiting for him to appreciate her, love her took her life!
I read his books and had some respect for the man, although they were not brilliant books, but if he thinks by "admitting" he is absolved of the crimes he has committed, then he is only deluding himself.
At 75 he can still slut around..but when one is at the cusp of death, one's conscience does prick(no pun intended) and one tries to make amends or whatever it is called. 
If he reads the blog( wishful thinking), he will realize that no matter what he says, what he has done, what he is about to do, he is scum on scum.
You know do what you have to do to satisfy your carnal needs..but do it on your own time, not at the expense of others.
May his tortured wife's soul rest in peace!
